*** Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung visited and sent Tet greetings to officials and policemen of the Police General Department for Crime Prevention and Control and the General Department of Security in Hanoi on January 26.
He applauded the public security and security forces’ efforts to maintain political stability and social order and together with the whole Party and people to push back challenges to raise the Vietnam’s position on the international arena.
Mr Dung said the country’s socio-economic achievements are attributed to the public security forces who ensure peaceful lives for local people and a stable environment to attract investment and promote development.
The sector better implemented crime prevention and control, deal with various kinds of crime and made progress in social order, PM Dung said.
He said ensuring political stability and social order and fighting crime is the sector’s key task. In addition, they must crush the plots of hostile forces and terrorists and advise the Party and State to uphold the strength of the whole political system in ensuring security, order and fighting crimes effectively.
*** Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, paid a two-day visit to Ca Mau province on January 25-26. She applauded the province’s socio-economic achievements. Its seafood sector always held a high market share and people’s living conditions have improved as a result. The province has also made significant progress in infrastructure development as many transport projects and bridges have been built.
Ms Ngan expressed her hope that Ca Mau will continue uphold revolutionary traditions to implement the 11th National Party Congress’s resolution to develop the province prosperously.
On the occasion, she presented Tet gifts to some families of social policy beneficiaries.
*** Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung paid a Tet visit to the Pha Rung Shipbuilding Industry Corporation and Nam Trieu Shipbuilding Industry Corporation under the Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Group (Vinashin) in Hai Phong City on January 26.
Mr Hung praised the efforts of the two corporations’ leaders, officials and workers to overcome difficulties in the first half of 2010 to restore the shipbuilding industry and to restructure production. Despite a lot of difficulties, Vinashin completed and handed over 64 ships to domestic and foreign clients, helping the industry develop stably and rapidly.
Mr Hung said that in the second half of 2010, the shipbuilding industry made significant progress and many companies began launching ships and handed over many ships to customers.
On the occasion, Mr Hung presented gifts to workers from the two corporations.
*** Deputy Prime Minister Truong Vinh Trong also visited Ha Giang province on January 25-26.
Mr Trong said despite a lot of difficulties, Ha Giang obtained significant achievements, representing the provincial Party, Government administration and people’s great efforts.
Ha Giang is still a poor province so its leaders should devise proper solutions in line with its conditions to fulfill set target, Mr Trong said.
He added the province should pay more attention to Party building, because it is an important factor to help the province successfully implement socio-economic development programmes. Another issue to focus on is human resources development, especially among ethnic minorities and rural people as it helps comprehensive and sustainable development. During the upcoming Tet, the province must ensure all people have a new year.
Mr Trong visited a branch of the Vietnam Bank for Investment and Development in Ha Giang and presented 2,500 gifts worth VND500 million to poor people in the province.
