More than 350 Norwegian books will be on display at the Vietnam National Library in Hanoi from May 14-20.

The exhibition entitled “An introduction to Norway ” is being held to mark Norwegian Constitution Day – May 17.

The set of books, published between 2006-2008, both fiction and non-fiction, cover a wide range of topics in English. They are mainly about Norway and areas of Norwegian expertise, management of the environment and natural resources, social welfare, oil and energy, shipping, governance, gender equality and international law.

“I hope this will be of some interest to Vietnamese readers and inspire them to find out more about Norway. It will also help to promote mutual understanding and friendly relationship between the two countries and their people,” said Norwegian Ambassador to Vietnam Kjell Storlokken on May 13.

At the opening ceremony, there will be a presentation of the Norwegian Government’s strategy in Vietnam and screening of a short film on Norway.

The books, worth more than Norwegian Krone100,000 (VND 275 million), will be donated to the Vietnam National Library.
