| Present at the event were To Huy Rua, Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) and Head of the CPVCC’s Information and Education Commission, Uong Chu Luu, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Head of the Government Office, leaders of Ha Tinh Province and many people from all over the country. The Dong Loc T-junction in the central province of Ha Tinh, where ten young female volunteers sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence, is familiar to most Vietnamese. The construction of the bell-tower in Dong Loc T-junction began in July, 2010. The total investment was VND27 billion, raised among various benefactors. The bell-tower has 7 storeys, with a 6-tonne bronze bell, is 3.6m high and has a diameter of 1.92m. At the event, an art performance was held to commemorate the sacrifice of ten young female volunteers. |
