A painter donates over VND114 million to help poor people

Painter Truong Han Minh closed his water colour-painting exhibition on July 12 in Hanoi, donating half of the money collected to the Fund for the Poor.

Minh, 59, is considered as a master of water colour painting in Vietnam, and is very famous for his talent, dignity and social activities to support the poor and children with disabilities.

The 10-day exhibition attracted more than 1,000 visitors and collected up to US$12,050.

At the closing ceremony, Minh said the exhibition aimed to celebrate 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi and raise funds for the poor.

He also expressed thanks to organizations and individuals for their support and hoped to receive further support for more exhibitions in future.

Earlier, on May 15, he presented one of his pictures to a charity fund named Sheen Hok. A Hong Kong businessman bought it at a price of US$66,666. Mr Minh donated all the money to support visually impaired children.
