Named Best Business Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City 2006 by Business Traveller Magazine, the Sheraton Saigon Hotel and Towers is one of the most popular hotels among business travellers to Saigon.
After the opening of its aptly named Grand Tower in April 2008, the total capacity now reaches nearly 500 rooms. Newly renovated and reaching 25 stories high, the new tower offers elegant studios and exlusive suites. Staying here gives the traveller extra benefits such as a private lounge, free local phone calls, and a free rental service for devices such as ipods and mobile phones.
If these extras and a slightly posher room is not vital, then the remaining 370 plus guest rooms will suffice just fine. All have executive desks and broadband internet access. Bedding is comfortable and the TV's a reasonable size.
The bathrooms are particularly well done with multi-jet showers we'd not seen elsewhere in Saigon. Other facilities include mini-bar, complimentary tea and coffee, in-room safe and IDD telephone.
The large pool is well supplied with deckchairs and lawn furniture, though being wedged between the hotel and the serviced apartments, it can apparently get quite windy. Shop around online for a competitive rate.
